Discovery. The discovery area is where children learn to think like scientists. They explore with a variety of materials and investigate the answers to their questions. In this area they observe, experiment, measure, solve problems, take things apart, handle the materials and living things that are placed in the area or brought in by the children. They learn to create a hypothesis and how to discover whether it is true or false.
Sensory. The sensory area is where children a variety of science and math skills. They learn what happens when you put water into a funnel and what items float or sink. They will also have the opportunity to explore a variety of materials as they explore pine cones, rice, beans and a variety of other natural materials.
